Overview

The Planning and Zoning Commission has authority under State Law, and Town Charter to adopt regulations governing the use, bulk, and density of land, subdivision of property, and the protection of property from flood damage. The goals of the Commission are to improve and maintain the quality of life in Windham and to preserve the urban and rural qualities of life in the Town of Windham by guiding development through the development review process, and to continue to examine the regulations for possible revision in accordance with the Town Plan of Conservation and Development which may be found here...Windham CT 2017 POCD (PDF).

The Commission encourages prospective developers to submit preliminary proposals for a pre-application review as permitted under Connecticut General Statutes.

In addition to hearing comments during a Public Hearing on a specific proposal, the Commission will accept written comments from the public at any time. Please address your comments to Windham Planning and Zoning Commission and mail them to 979 Main Street, Willimantic, CT. 06226.
